With most of the blocks of land in the area now occupied, a strong sense of community is starting to emerge, and a number of local residents are keen to establish a Royalla Community Association.

A Community Association is an association of local residents incorporated under the NSW Associated Incorporations Act 2009.  It would represent the wishes of the community to state and local governments, run functions and activities of benefit to the local community, and provide a legal/insurance umbrella organisation for other local community groups, such as Landcare, or playgroups, or sporting groups, or horse riding groups.  The Community Association would manage its own finances, and would be well placed to apply for grant funding for community projects or facilities.

Last Wednesday, October 15th, at 7pm , there was a meeting to begin the process.  The meeting was open to all residents of Royalla, and about 10 people attended.  It was a very positive meeting, with lots of enthusiasm.

There was discussion about the requirements for setting up an association, and a number of nominations have been received for the committee and executive positions on the committee. So far we have nominations for the Chair/President, Treasurer and Secretary, and a number of committee members.

The next meeting will be held at the Common (317 Royalla Drive) on Sunday, 2nd November after the Working Bee, at approximately 12:30 pm, where we will be inviting membership in the association and election or introduction of the new committee (depending on nominations).

If you would like to be on the committee, you can nominate by filling in this nomination form and sending it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., by COB Friday, 31st October, 2014.
